Temporary Attorney III

Candidate will be helping to rewrite Department regulations according to the Governor’s Executive Order. Would be drafting regulations or assume tasks such as representing the agency in administrative appeals. Must have 3 years of experience as an attorney practicing law and providing legal services such as preparing and trying cases, advising clients, and/or interpreting laws or administrative policies. In accordance with Section 7-101, Nebraska Revised, Reissued Statutes of l943, incumbents in this class must be admitted to the Nebraska Bar.

Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years' experience practicing law is required. Litigation experience and strong writing skills preferred. Must have excellent legal research and communication skills, and experience practicing in complex areas of the law. Must have the ability to: interpret and communicate the legal effect of transactional documents; analyze the application of relevant law to specific facts; recognize the impact of developing legislation and case law on the agency and its programs; and interpret complex federal and state constitutional, statutory and regulatory law.
