Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Glendale, California office. The role involves handling labor and employment matters, focusing on wage and hour class/PAGA actions. The position is on-site preferred, with no minimum billable hours required.

Duties

• Handle wage and hour class/PAGA actions from inception through conclusion.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs.
• Attend court hearings and trials.
• Assist in client meetings and consultations.
• Manage caseloads and ensure deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of in-court litigation and deposition-handling experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of law and motion briefing and argument.
• Experience in plaintiff or defense side employment law, wage & hour, and class/PAGA actions is a plus.
• Superior oral advocacy skills and confidence.
• Great analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail, honesty, dependability, computer savvy, and multi-tasking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Email/Calendar, Adobe Acrobat, Apple Operating System, and other litigation software.
• Fluency in English (spoken & written). Spanish is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active California State Bar license, with no disciplinary history.
