A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is actively seeking a Mid-level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of substantive experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire for trial work and have expertise in defending wage and hour claims, including wage and hour class action lawsuits. Additionally, the candidate should have meaningful experience in transactional employment work, including drafting employment and severance agreements, EEOC position statements, DFEH responses, and conducting witness interviews and depositions. A background in counseling employers on federal and state employment law compliance, drafting workplace policies, and assisting clients with employment training programs is highly desirable. Experience in traditional management labor relations is also advantageous. Superior academic and writing credentials, along with California Bar admission, are required for this role.

Duties:

  • Manage and handle substantive employment litigation cases from initiation to resolution.
  • Demonstrate a strong desire for trial work, actively participating in proceedings.
  • Defend against wage and hour claims, including class action lawsuits.
  • Engage in transactional employment work, drafting employment and severance agreements.
  • Prepare EEOC position statements and DFEH responses.
  • Conduct witness interviews and depositions.
  • Counsel employers on federal and state employment law compliance.
  • Draft workplace policies and assist clients with employment training programs.
  • Contribute to traditional management labor relations, if applicable.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of substantive experience in employment litigation.
  • A desire for active involvement in trial work.
  • Experience in defending wage and hour claims, including class action lawsuits.
  • Meaningful experience in transactional employment work.
  • Background in counseling employers on federal and state employment law compliance.
  • Superior academic and writing credentials.
  • California Bar admission.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
