Legal Counsel - Privacy
The candidate's duties will include : To help support BCG’s efforts to proactively address global privacy issues and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations from a strategic, tactical, and operational perspective and collaborate to set strategy on same; support BCG DPO in developing and updating relevant global data privacy policies and training. Provide commercial/contract support for a variety of agreements including BCG client agreements, Client DPAs, Vendor DPAs, etc. Partner with and provide privacy focused ad-hoc advice to BCG project teams, legal team members and the broader BCG community, in particular the IT Security team, to ensure data privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects, products and initiatives. Other activities include (i) reviewing 3rd party app privacy policies; (ii) providing support for BCG Data Privacy office; (iii) updating BCG Privacy Policies, advising IT on DPIAs, preparing and responding to incidents; teaming to drive privacy focused projects worldwide. Assist with training and continued development of knowledge and skills across both the global legal team and the business around privacy and data issues, identify risks and issues; suggest alternative solutions and efficiencies; Act as bridge and point of contact between functions and business for resolving legal issues; Perform other duties as assigned or required. Should have analysis and creative problem solving, with an appreciation for striking a practical balance between business and legal objectives; Quickly, comfortably and with flexibility dealing with a diverse international set of clients and advisors; Should quickly comprehend complex sets of international laws and regulations and interpret those laws within the context of BCG's global policies; Should be producing results in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, client-oriented environment, ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines and manage own caseload. Privacy certification and degree in Law from an accredited law school required. Must have 5-8 years of experience including familiarity with data and privacy issues and topic. Should have proven history of helping drive end-to-end programmatic change across a large and diverse organization.
