Pre-Underwriting & Closing Specialist

Duties: Works with loan officers and applicants in the pre-underwriting portion of the loan application process, produces loan documents, conducts loan closings and records collateral. Commitment to superior customer service is paramount. Work done protects the assets of the organization by ensuring that agreements made with borrowers are legally binding and secures those agreements with collateral. Contributes to the loan underwriting process through the collection of required documents, reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness. Responsible for loan file development and management. As clients move through the loan application process, provides technical assistance to them. PUCS support clients in understanding the implications, definitions, and uses of the documents we collect during the loan process. Guidance is offered via phone and email throughout the application and closing process. Sharing templates and resources as well as helping clients understand what to expect after their loan closes. First line of protection against fraud and must have a sharp eye for detail in documents and in filings with government entities such as the Secretary of State’s Office and County Clerks. Following the loan analysis and underwriting process, notifies the loan applicant of CEF’s commitment to fund the loan request, prepares final loan documents, and schedules and conducts the loan closing meeting. Pursue legal documentation related to the collateral pledged to CEF in the loan agreement with a sense of urgency and eye for detail. Managing and organizing documents effectively. Operations and/or research experience preferably in commercial lending, banking, paralegal, title company, insurance or other related industry.
