A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced General Liability Defense Attorney to join its team in Flowood, MS. This position offers a dynamic and challenging role focused on defending clients in a variety of general liability matters, including medical malpractice and healthcare defense. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex legal issues and driving cases through litigation, mediation, and trial processes.

Duties:

• Review and prepare summaries of medical records to support client advocacy.

• Draft motions and represent clients in hearings and court appearances.

• Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as required.

• Draft and manage reports, including initial, interim, pre-trial, and trial reports.

• Handle discovery requests and prepare related motions.

• Take and defend depositions of both fact and expert witnesses.

• Manage and drive cases through all stages of litigation, ensuring favorable outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Mississippi.

• 5-10 years of experience in general liability defense, with a focus on medical malpractice and healthcare defense.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in legal research and writing.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to handle complex legal issues effectively and independently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Mississippi.

Skills:

• Expertise in general liability defense, including medical malpractice and healthcare-related matters.

• Strong courtroom presence with experience attending hearings, depositions, and trials.

• Effective written communication skills, including drafting motions and legal reports.

• High level of proficiency in legal research and analysis.
