Location

Duties

• Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution

• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and legal memoranda

• Conduct court appearances, mediations, and depositions

• Perform regular case investigations and prepare cases for trial

• Collaborate closely with partners and other attorneys on case strategies

• Communicate consistently with clients, providing detailed case updates and advice

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of defense litigation experience

• Significant experience in general liability, personal injury, transportation, and/or catastrophic injury litigation

• Familiarity with insurance defense practices preferred

• Exposure to e-commerce and gig economy legal issues considered a plus

• Strong experience in drafting discovery responses and pretrial motions

• Courtroom and trial preparation experience strongly preferred

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the state of Virginia

Skills

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills

• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
