A law firm seeks a mid to senior level associate to join its Real Estate Finance group in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and experience in law firms or clerking, with excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Duties

• Engage in loan origination for large structured commercial real estate finance transactions.
• Draft primary loan documents and manage transactions from inception through closing.
• Handle asset management and workout experience, including secondary market repurchase facility work.
• Collaborate with a team to support and grow the national practice.

Requirements

• 3+ years of broad real estate finance experience.
• Experience with mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
• Ability to navigate complex subject matter effectively.
• Active bar admission in the jurisdiction of practice.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active bar admission.
