Senior Application Engineer

The candidate will be responsible for: Ensuring the desktop and applications are highly available and functioning properly. Investigate and resolve basic to complex software and desktops issues. This can range from printing issues to complex application integration issues to web pages not loading. In supporting the desktop, some basic work on servers, such as Domain Controllers or print servers will be necessary along with working on application specific servers. Support of the Firm’s official document repositories, including configuration and access rights. Ability to direct and coach other staff members who support Windows and applications. Work with other IT groups, developers (internal and external), and vendors to resolve issues and enhance application capabilities, maximizing stability and usability of the Firm’s systems. Troubleshoot basic hardware issues for PC’s / laptops / printers, as they relate to desktop and application support. Testing and evaluate new software and hardware. Recommend standards and procedures for hardware and software to the firm’s IT leadership. Categorization and documentation of software, software configurations, and troubleshooting processes. Provide escalated support to end users and practice groups in the DC office when needed. Learning at least basic administration of the following applications, when the understanding does not already exist: SCCM, application packaging, Group Policy, and ProfileUnity. Other duties as required.
