A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a Technology Specialist to play a crucial role in providing technical and scientific expertise in the field of patent law. The Technology Specialist will be responsible for conducting patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and non-infringement analyses, drafting post-grant documents, advising legal teams, and prosecuting patent applications for innovative clients.

Job Details:

Duties:

• Perform patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and/or non-infringement analyses, including claim chart construction as applicable.
• Draft post-grant documents (e.g., petitions, replies) outlining technical arguments.
• Advise post-grant and patent litigation teams based on your technical and scientific areas of expertise.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications for innovative clients.

Requirements:

• An advanced degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
• 0-3 years of post-grant and/or patent prosecution experience preferred.
• Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
• Admission to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (preferred).

Education:

• Advanced degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or closely related field.

Certifications:

• Admission to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (preferred).

Skills:

• Strong technical and scientific expertise in the relevant field.
• Proficiency in conducting patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and non-infringement analyses.
• Ability to construct claim charts for patent analysis.
• Exceptional writing skills for drafting post-grant documents.
