Job Overview

Duties

• Facilitate in-person consultations with new and established clients regarding personal estate objectives

• Analyze family and asset circumstances to craft tailored planning strategies

• Translate client intentions into professionally drafted legal documents

• Lead the onboarding process, including the proposal of services, securing signatures, and collecting retainers

• Maintain continuous communication throughout the planning process, including follow-up meetings and status updates

• Manage digital and task systems for workflow efficiency (e.g., internal tracking tools)

• Conduct document review sessions with clients, offering clear explanations of plan structures and answering questions

• Identify potential cross-functional opportunities with trusted advisors in related fields

• Maintain client files, notes, and communications to preserve continuity and accuracy

• Attend regular team discussions to address complex cases and review best practices

• Participate in department meetings and all-hands staff sessions

• Support miscellaneous legal projects as they arise

Requirements

• Active membership in the State Bar of California

• 3 years of experience focusing on estate planning, trusts, and wills

• Prior exposure to advanced planning concepts is strongly preferred

• Familiarity with state and federal tax considerations (income, gift, estate)

• Professional Notary Public designation is an asset

• Capable of managing client relationships with empathy and professionalism

• Demonstrated ability to juggle legal drafting, client advising, and case coordination

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Continued legal education in trust and estate law is highly desirable

Certifications

• California Bar License (Mandatory)

• Skilled in client presentations and document explanation
