Paralegal - Transactions Unit
The candidate will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel and will lead and oversee the contracting process, as well as review and draft contracts with minimal attorney supervision. Will have direct responsibility for managing contracting workflow and tracking, including to contract request intake and receipt of contract requests and materials, tracking materials submissions, establishing and overseeing contract collaboration meetings, delivering weekly and monthly status reports. Review contract requests from departments to ensure completeness of materials submitted (e.g., scopes of services, deliverables, pricing, and other contract inputs) and work with the submitting department along with the Procurement department and the drafting attorney to resolve any issues. Establish protocol to manage contract status and ensure timely input of contract data into matter tracking systems. Prepare initial drafts of contract templates and contract terms library for attorney review. Review school-level contracts for vendors who provide services to schools and have established contract forms/riders acceptable to the Board. Should have Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university. Paralegal certification preferred. Must have 2+ years of paralegal experience in a fast-paced environment focused on transactions or similar legal practice.
