Summer Associate Program
The program is designed to provide summer associates a view of what work life is like for the typical associate of the firm. Throughout the program, summer associates work alongside attorneys on real matters for clients, gaining a deeper appreciation of what it is like to practice law at the firm. Summer associates work with attorneys from various areas of diverse legal practices. Each summer associate is paired with an attorney mentor who serves as a source of information and guidance while directing and cultivating progress. Work assignments are distributed directly from attorneys, and each assignment is evaluated upon completion. In addition to working with summer associates to improve their research and writing skills, the firm supplements the on-the-job education by including summer associates in training opportunities and, whenever possible, at client conferences, closings, depositions, hearings, mediations and trials. Summer associates also meet with firm management to gain an understanding of how the firm is organized and managed. Top-notch qualifications are required. First-year students should apply between December 1 and February 28.
