The firm is looking for a dedicated professional who brings a proactive approach to case management, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for advocating on behalf of employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Appear before the court for various employment litigation proceedings, including but not limited to preliminary approval hearings, final approval hearings, compliance conferences following settlement, and financial reviews related to the distribution of settlement funds.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, third-party settlement administrators, and internal team members to ensure seamless communication throughout the settlement process.
  • Review and approve class notifications, coordinate timelines with the settlement administrator, and oversee staff responsible for communication with administrators.
  • Track and monitor proposed orders submitted to the court, ensuring they are finalized and processed appropriately to initiate settlement actions.
  • Manage and confirm that all critical deadlines, such as filing dates, hearing schedules, administrative milestones, and disbursement timelines, are accurately calendared.
  • Guide junior staff members, overseeing the preparation of filings, ensuring timely follow-up with clients regarding settlement documents, and ensuring that clients receive consistent case updates.
  • Evaluate and recommend settlement strategies, contributing to negotiation discussions and helping to craft creative resolutions tailored to each case.
  • Collaborate closely with the firm’s finance team to ensure proper handling of settlement funds, including forwarding agreements, distributing payments, tracking allocations as per agreements, confirming referral fee payments, and maintaining accurate records of all received and disbursed funds.
  • Draft and revise key case documents, including but not limited to:
    • Settlement agreements for wage and hour claims, PAGA actions, and individual disputes.
    • Class notification materials and proposals for settlement administrators.
    • Motions for preliminary and final approval, along with supporting declarations, proposed orders, and service proofs.
    • Amended complaints and stipulations following settlements.
    • Attorney declarations in support of court filings.
    • Joint status reports for concluded cases.
    • Dismissal requests (both with and without prejudice), supplemented by declarations and proposed orders.
    • Revised orders and judgments aligned with final judicial rulings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California, in good standing.
  • At least two years of focused experience handling employment litigation matters, particularly in wage and hour disputes, discrimination cases, wrongful termination claims, class action lawsuits, and representative (PAGA) cases.
  • Fluency in more than one language is strongly preferred but not mandatory.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating demands and competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently as part of a collaborative legal team.
  • Natural problem solver with a proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative.
  • Proficiency with legal case management systems (e.g., Filevine), along with commonly used productivity software such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and spreadsheet tools (Excel or equivalent).

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license with the California State Bar.

Work Environment & Benefits:
