Job Title: Senior Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Asheville, NC, is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to contribute to its dynamic insurance defense practice. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years' experience in civil litigation and demonstrate a strong ability to independently manage a caseload from initiation through trial. Duties:

• Evaluate incoming matters to determine strategy, budget, and case progression

• Identify procedural requirements and allocate tasks to support staff as appropriate

• Draft and respond to discovery, manage document production, and oversee evidence gathering

• Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings

• Deliver regular reports and updates on litigation status and strategy

• Participate in settlement negotiations and trial preparations

• Collaborate closely with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure timely and efficient case handling

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of litigation experience, preferably within the insurance defense sector

• Current license to practice law in North Carolina

• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced legal environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational capabilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; comfort with legal practice management systems is a plus

• Client-focused mindset with a dedication to service and responsiveness

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of North Carolina
