Location:
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Duties:
Draft, prepare, and present legal documents, research, and client communications
Represent clients in transactions and litigation-related matters
Conduct and facilitate client consultations
Collaborate with opposing parties to represent and advance client interests
Assist in brokering deals and negotiating on behalf of clients
Provide timely legal research and delegate research tasks as needed
Manage, proofread, and edit client materials and correspondence
Supervise and guide the work of Legal Assistants and Law Clerks
Maintain communication with senior attorneys regarding client matters and project status
Support team workflow with defined expectations and regular check-ins
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
One year or less of experience working in a law firm
Fewer than five years of legal practice overall
Strong customer service orientation and team collaboration skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Leadership qualities and accountability for task execution
Ability to work independently and manage uncertainty with professionalism
Commitment to high ethical standards and confidentiality
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Positive attitude and adaptability in a fast-paced legal environment
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to practice law in the state of New Mexico
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and Adobe
Familiarity with New Mexico legal filing software
Effective use of general office equipment (copiers, scanners, phone systems)
Strong drafting skills and command of English grammar and usage
Capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Adept at giving and receiving constructive feedback
Team-oriented mindset with an emphasis on maintaining a healthy workplace culture
