Job Overview: A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join their team in Minneapolis, MN. Duties:

• Assist in writing and filing utility and design patent applications
• Pursue U.S. and foreign patent protection
• Conduct freedom-to-operate analyses
• Draft opinions of counsel
• Collaborate with team attorneys and staff on intellectual property matters
• Perform patentability analyses
• Engage in patent drafting and prosecution
• Handle IP-related agreements and litigation tasks

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, or similar engineering field
• Strong academic credentials
• Solid work ethic
• Excellent writing and analytical skills

Education and Certifications:

• Admission to the North Carolina Bar or the Minneapolis State Bar
• Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office or eligibility to sit for the Patent Bar

Skills:
