The candidate will prepare monthly and ad hoc journal entries at a detailed level, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate practice area and location profitability reporting. Perform monthly detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations along with a comparison of actual to budget, forecast and prior year. Calculate, analyze, and recommend adjustment to financial reserves. Ensure accurate accounting on an accrual (book) and cash (tax) basis across multiple legal entities. Perform daily cash reconciliations of all bank activity by account and transaction, and resolve any discrepancies; ensure proper internal controls are documented and followed. Generate and distribute client pre-bills in accordance with recurring monthly schedule; review and edit pre-bills prior to distribution to client. Complete and distribute final invoices in accordance with Firm and client guidelines. Provide client accruals, status updates and budgets. Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting is required. Experience querying, extracting, and manipulating information from a data warehouse or other business intelligence database solution is a strong plus. Experience working in a law firm is a strong plus.
