Pro Bono Manager

The candidate will be responsible for administering and continuing development of the Firm's pro bono program. This role will also develop and manage the firm's pro bono partnerships with companies, legal service providers, community organizations and bar associations; and assist with firmwide internal and external reporting and public relations regarding pro bono work with the support of the Marketing department. Review pro bono requests from attorneys, assist in submitting for approval and draft engagement letters. Serves as a resource internally to Firm operations, policies, and procedures, and externally to other firms and the Association of Corporate Counsel in pro bono project planning and management. Coordinate annual Pro Bono Week. Assist Pro Bono Counsel in developing agendas and presentations for quarterly Pro Bono Committee meetings. Support the Pro Bono Counsel in managing program budget. Serve as a liaison to outside legal services organizations. Serves as a resource and liaison to Firm-sponsored Equal Justice Works Fellow. Assist attorneys in matching projects with their areas of interest and ensure pro bono matters are reassigned as needed. Screen requests for pro bono assistance from outside organizations/individuals within the area. Work with the Pro Bono Counsel and appropriate departments to coordinate summer associate pro bono program and participates in orientation as needed. Attend pro bono practice development conferences and seminars to identify ways to enhance Firm’s program. Work with Pro Bono Counsel to research and identify pro bono opportunities to engage our clients and alumni. Assist the Pro Bono Counsel with presentations and communications around client partnership opportunities. Development of the Firm’s annual report on Pro Bono, and develop content for the Firm's internal/external websites and marketing pitches. Assist Pro Bono Counsel and Marketing department with applications for awards and commendations for the pro bono work of the Firm and attorneys. Should have proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must have strong writing skills and demonstrated ability to draft materials, reports and correspondences. Reporting to the Senior Director of CSR/Pro Bono Counsel, have prior experience supporting community activities in the legal profession or in a professional capacity. Bachelor's degree required, preferably in liberal arts; JD degree a plus.
