Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney for its Portland, OR office to join the Employment, Labor & Workforce Management practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in employment litigation and a strong understanding of federal and state labor laws.

Duties

• Participate in strategy development for litigation cases.
• Interview witnesses and review electronically stored documents.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Interact with clients and opposing counsel.
• Make court appearances.
• Provide advice on workplace law issues, including wage and hour, employee relations, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Relevant employment litigation experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including wage and hour, trade secret law, and Title VII.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Admission to practice law in California or willingness to sit for the bar in California is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. state.

Skills

• Strong litigation and legal research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents.
