Manager, Market Development
The candidate will be developing and executing marketing and business development programs for the Asset Management and Investment Funds (AMIF) practice areas and will serve as the Practice Growth Lead for these practices. The MDM will collaborate with respective firm and practice leadership as well as individual partners to help strategize, plan, focus and support current and future-focused market development activities with a focus on go-to-market strategy, pipeline development, and sales enablement. Members of the Client Growth Team, lawyers and other allied professionals. Go-To-Market Strategy: Work with practice/industry/regional leadership to identify market opportunities and target audiences and co-develop and implement practice-centric business development strategies consistent with the firm’s strategic initiatives. Collaborate closely with lawyers and client growth team members to develop and manage, from inception to completion, market-specific content campaigns, marketing collateral, events, and research with a goal of increasing visibility of practice capabilities and generate leads. Maintain a strong knowledge of respective market, including business trends and competitive landscape for legal services. Lead the execution, measurement, and reporting out on strategic practice and go-to-market initiatives. Identify potential press opportunities, and collaborate with office and firmwide marketing staff to turn those opportunities into media exposure. Identify attorneys to be sources with key media contacts. Collaborate with team to provide insight and feedback on practice goals for rankings and awards; determine strategic categories and lawyers for focus and inclusion Must have 7 years of marketing, business development and/or sales experience in a professional services firm or closely related work environment. Experience within a large national or international firm preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of the global marketplace for professional services required. MBA or similar graduate-level degree preferred. Outstanding communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels. Demonstrated ability to influence senior professionals and help them succeed in meeting their business development objectives. Ability to work independently. Willingness to work hands-on to achieve objectives in an environment with little leverage. Outstanding project management skills and the ability to juggle competing, shifting priorities. Excellent attention to detail. Consistent ability to meet deadlines. Collaborative, team-oriented approach to work. Manual dexterity required for typing, reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time.
