A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney to join their team remotely. The ideal candidate will be an active member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing and possess a strong passion for representing clients during challenging times.

Duties

• Assist clients by understanding their needs and strategizing appropriate legal actions.
• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date client files.
• Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements for a high volume of cases.
• Represent clients in court proceedings as needed.
• Conduct client meetings via phone and video conference.
• Negotiate and draft settlement agreements.

Requirements

• Active membership with the American Bar Association.
• 1-2 years of experience in family law and real estate matters.
• 5 or more years of experience handling Virginia divorce cases.
• Proficient with technology and remote work.

Education

• Undergraduate degree with a legal background.
• Juris Doctor degree required.

Certifications

• Active member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing.

Skills

• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in stressful situations.
• Experience with all types of family law matters, including divorces, custody, and support issues.
