Duties:

• Handle a broad range of family law cases, including divorce, custody, support, and asset division

• Prepare legal documentation such as pleadings, motions, and agreements

• Represent clients in hearings, mediation, and trial settings

• Advise clients with empathy and clarity at each stage of the legal process

• Partner with support staff to ensure accurate and timely case management

• Participate in ongoing legal education and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in family law litigation

• Licensed and in good standing with the state bar

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple active cases

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience working with diverse clientele and sensitive family law matters

• Proficiency in legal research tools and document management systems

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Maine

• No additional certifications required, though family law-specific training is advantageous
