Junior-Level Patent Agent

Profile

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a Junior-Level Patent Agent with a strong technical background in the biological sciences. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline and must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications in the field of biological sciences.
• Conduct IP due diligence and Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses.
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients to assess patentability and provide strategic advice.
• Assist with patent portfolio management and IP litigation support.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• 2 years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Experience in a law firm environment is desirable.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Outstanding organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.

• Proficiency in drafting patent applications and responding to office actions.
• Strong understanding of patent laws and regulations.
• Ability to conduct thorough IP due diligence and FTO analyses.

Education:

Certifications:
