Family Law Attorney

A law firm seeks a skilled Family Law Attorney to join their team in a hybrid remote role based in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for family law and a dedication to making a positive impact on clients' lives. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, as the firm serves a diverse clientele. Duties

• Case Representation: Represent clients in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, domestic violence, and paternity issues.
• Legal Document Preparation: Draft and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, affidavits, and subpoenas, with assistance from paralegals.
• Court Appearances: Prepare for and attend court appearances, depositions, evidentiary hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Client Communication: Regularly update clients on case progress, ensuring clear and timely communication.
• Legal Research: Conduct legal research to support case strategy and gather pertinent case information.
• Discovery Management: Organize and manage discovery documents, including production and review.
• Witness Interviews: Interview clients and witnesses to gather information and develop case strategies.
• Trial Preparation: Prepare trial exhibits and demonstrative evidence for court proceedings.
• Ongoing Learning: Stay updated on family law developments and participate in continuing legal education (CLE).

Requirements

• Experience: At least 3 years of experience practicing family law.
• License: Active membership in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
• Legal Research: Proficiency with legal research tools, such as Lexis-Nexis.
• Communication Skills: Strong written, oral advocacy, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Organization: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Professionalism: High ethical standards and professionalism.
• Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills and an ability to advocate effectively for clients' best interests.
• Case Management Software: Familiarity with case management software.
• Languages: Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Florida State Bar License: Active membership in good standing is required.
