The attorney will handle the investigation and defense of tort claims against electric utility companies throughout Texas, with potential work in Colorado. This hybrid role involves both office and remote work, with occasional travel for court appearances and investigations.

Duties

• Research and analyze legal sources such as statutes and judicial decisions.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including electronic document production.
• Prepare legal briefs, pleadings, and other necessary documentation.
• Formulate legal strategy and manage cases.
• Appear in court for hearings and trials.
• Collaborate with attorneys and team members on legal matters.
• Conduct fieldwork as part of investigations.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas.
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
• Experience with billing tracking and entry preferred.
• Experience in investigation and defense of tort claims preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
