A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Of Counsel Attorney to join its litigation team. This role involves overseeing complex civil litigation matters, with a strong focus on insurance defense, general liability, professional liability, and medical malpractice. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience, outstanding litigation skills, and the ability to manage cases independently while mentoring junior attorneys.

Location

Duties

• Oversee high-profile and complex civil litigation cases
• Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation
• Provide strategic legal counsel and case management support
• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and appellate briefs
• Collaborate with senior partners, associates, and clients on case strategy
• Mentor junior attorneys and assist in professional development
• Ensure compliance with court deadlines, legal standards, and ethical guidelines

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, or related practice areas
• Strong litigation, negotiation, and trial experience
• Ability to bill a minimum of 169 hours per month
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the California and/or Nevada State Bar

Skills

• Exceptional oral advocacy and courtroom skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to handle high-stakes litigation in a fast-paced environment
