Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly skilled Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of civil litigation experience. The ideal candidate should be in good standing and licensed to practice with the Maryland Bar, while admission to the DC Bar is preferred. The role requires proficiency in various aspects of litigation, including motions practice, discovery, deposits, and conducting trials in district and circuit courts in MD, with experience in jury trials being highly desirable.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including, but not limited to, motions hearings, discovery processes, and trials.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to prepare for litigation proceedings.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Manage case files and deadlines efficiently.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Maryland Bar is required, while the DC Bar is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure and evidence rules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Maryland Bar.
• Admission to the DC Bar (preferred).

Skills:

• Proficiency in Motions Practice, Discovery, and Depositions.
• Experience conducting District and Circuit Court trials in Maryland.
• Familiarity with Jury Trials (preferred).
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
