Job Title: Litigation Of Counsel

Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Of Counsel to join their team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in litigation, particularly in product liability and complex commercial litigation, with a science background. The role involves communicating with clients, supervising associates, drafting legal documents, and contributing to case strategy development.

Duties:

• Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, and third parties verbally and in writing.
• Supervise associates and assist in their professional development.
• Work with experts and assist in fact development and depositions.
• Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Contribute to the development of case strategy.
• Produce high-quality work products within established deadlines.
• Foster positive work relationships within the firm and with external parties.
• Comply with all firm policies and practices.
• Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including computer work and virtual meetings.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• J.D. degree and bar admission.
• 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Experience in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
• Background in science (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) is required.
• Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Experience in pharmaceutical and medical device industries is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities.
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
• Academic background from nationally recognized schools.

Education & Certifications:

• J.D. degree
• Bar Admission
• 8+ years of litigation experience
• Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience
