A law firm based in New York is seeking a motivated Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join its expanding PIP litigation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex litigation cases. The role involves handling individual cases, drafting legal documents, and collaborating with an experienced partner to develop litigation strategies. Location:

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of complex litigation cases from inception through trial or settlement.
• Conduct legal research and offer guidance to clients on various legal issues.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct depositions, prepare witnesses, and handle court appearances.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Stay updated on relevant legal developments and maintain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• Admission to the bar in New York (New Jersey bar is a plus).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in defense litigation.
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
• Experience in representing clients in complex litigation matters, including trial preparation and court appearances.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
• Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation and arbitration.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (New Jersey bar is a plus).

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent research and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
• Proficient in litigation processes, including trial preparation and settlement negotiations.
