Duties

• Manage probate and estate administration matters from opening through closing using Wisconsin law.
• Prepare and review probate pleadings, inventories, accountings, and related court filings.
• Advise personal representatives and trustees regarding their duties, timelines, and legal obligations.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide guidance, updates, and clear explanations throughout the probate process.
• Appear in probate court as needed for uncontested probate hearings.
• Coordinate with paralegals and support staff to ensure matters are handled efficiently and accurately.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of probate, trust, and small estate administration experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Wisconsin probate procedures, deadlines, and court requirements.
• Ability to communicate clearly, compassionately, and professionally with clients during emotionally sensitive situations.
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong drafting skills and comfort reviewing and understanding financial and asset information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software (Clio experience is a plus).
• A collaborative, client-centered mindset and strong sense of responsibility.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin.
