Job Overview
A law firm seeks a full-time Litigation Attorney in Binghamton, NY. The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience and be admitted to the New York State Bar. Occasional travel to the Ithaca office is required.

Duties

• Draft legal documents, including motions, discovery, and pleadings.
• Conduct depositions, appear for oral arguments, and attend client meetings.
• Negotiate settlements and advise clients.
• Perform legal research and draft Memoranda of Law.
• Oversee consultations with potential clients.
• Handle hearings, arbitrations, and trials.

Requirements

• Current New York Bar admission.
• 3+ years of litigation experience required.
• Strong desire to further legal skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• New York State Bar admission.

Skills

• Competently manage situations requiring diplomacy, fairness, and sound judgment.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and promptly respond to client needs.
• Excellent verbal communication and advocacy skills.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively in person, by email, and telephone.
