Job Overview:
A leading regional law firm is seeking an experienced associate to join its Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Area. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in complex bankruptcy matters or relevant judicial clerkship experience. The position will involve working on high-stakes bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors’ rights cases. The successful candidate will be joining a collaborative and supportive team to serve clients in New York and Connecticut.

Location:

  • Rochester, NY

Duties:

  • Represent clients in complex bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors' rights matters.
  • Advise clients on legal strategies in bankruptcy cases, including corporate restructuring and creditor negotiations.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
  • Assist in managing bankruptcy litigation and restructuring processes.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on strategy development and case management.
  • Conduct legal research and provide timely, accurate legal advice.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and conferences as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in bankruptcy law or judicial clerkship experience.
  • Licensed to practice in New York State or Connecticut.
  • Strong verbal, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in handling complex bankruptcy matters and creditors' rights cases.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice in New York State or Connecticut.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues with minimal supervision.
  • Client-focused approach with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
