Knowledge Management Lawyer (Healthcare)
The candidate will report to the Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) and support the Healthcare Practice Group's (Health PG) overall knowledge infrastructure and serves a necessary function for the lawyers in the Health PG to work more effectively. Manage processes and data, facilitate training, and coordinate with the Attorney Resource Manager to enable the Health PG to operate more efficiently in order to produce both time and cost savings and provide additional value-add for clients. Coordinate the implementation of firm-wide knowledge management efforts into the Health PG by collaborating with advisory partners designated by the Health PG to create best practices, gain consensus on standards of operational efficiency, and develop measures of success for the practice's KM program while promoting a culture of knowledge-sharing and practice innovation. Evaluate current KM infrastructure and work to improve the ability to capture and disseminate information and research and to identify and prioritize new projects that will contribute to the efficiency of the Health PG by working with the CKO and advisory partners designated by the Health PG. Organize and integrate existing knowledge content and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and information within and outside of the Health PG by working with Health PG attorneys. Facilitate the Health PG's efforts to create and maintain a searchable knowledge repository (e.g., practice collaboration site on YourSource) of exemplar forms, clauses, local counsel directory, precedents, memos, research, 50 state surveys, business development materials, and other helpful content for the Health PG. Monitor key industry updates, legal decisions, and client alerts to provide important updates to the attorneys within the Health PG. Develop procedures for generating, maintaining, updating, accessing, and disseminating information (including the Health PG's forms and precedents) and other materials. Develop with the CKO Foundation, the firm's experience management platform, the tags, and values relevant for profiling Health PG work, coordinate and manage matter profiling efforts, generate, and review reports to ensure that matters are profiled appropriately, and assist training of new associates. Consistently and effectively communicate the availability and location of the Health PG's knowledge management resources. Develop a user-friendly interface and training materials that make the Health PG's knowledge management materials easily accessible to the Health PG as part of their day-to-day practices. Develop and present training for the Health PG on the firm's KM technology platforms including Foundation, the Health PG Collaboration site, tailoring the training to highlight aspects of the technology most relevant for the Health PG in light of their unique needs. Identify possible gaps in substantive training relevant to the Health PG, and coordinate with Professional Development to develop, organize, and deliver (individually or with others) training, which may include workshops and off-site training. Work with the KM department to evaluate, test and deploy innovative technology to reduce manual data collection, automate document creation, assist with legal research, and to otherwise support the practices. Should have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Must have 6+ years of experience as a healthcare lawyer and be admitted to practice law in good standing in a location where the firm has an office. Should preferably have also already worked as a Healthcare KM Lawyer in a large law firm environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) is needed.
