Overview: A distinguished law firm located in New York City is seeking a dedicated, experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to support its dynamic team. This attorney will independently handle a variety of complex cases within commercial litigation, primarily in federal and state courts. The role involves drafting and arguing motions, conducting trials, and working collaboratively on high-stakes litigation matters. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for both in-office and remote work flexibility.

Job Overview

Duties

• Conduct in-depth legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and substantive court documents for federal and state matters.
• Independently handle depositions, as well as court appearances in both the Southern and Eastern District Courts.
• Draft and argue motions and pleadings in a variety of commercial litigation cases.
• Take on trial responsibilities, managing cases from inception through resolution.
• Collaborate effectively within a team while also managing individual caseloads.
• Prioritize and meet competing deadlines effectively.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid New York Bar admission.
• Admission to the United States District Court for both the Southern District and the Eastern District of New York is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial litigation, including hands-on experience in court appearances, depositions, and trials.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the New York State Bar.
• Admitted to practice in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing abilities, with attention to detail in drafting legal documents.
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently with competing deadlines.
• Experience in independently conducting trials, with strong advocacy and argumentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while independently managing responsibilities.
