Job Title: Litigation Attorney - Personal Injury

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Quinton, VA is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to manage a high-volume caseload in personal injury matters. The role involves end-to-end case handling through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, negotiation, and trial. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team supported by experienced legal staff and will be expected to deliver results in a fast-paced, client-focused setting.

Duties:

• Handle personal injury cases from initial intake through resolution, including trial and appeal

• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and respond to discovery

• Prepare legal documents such as claims, subpoenas, motions, and settlement agreements

• Evaluate case value within 30 days of assignment and perform ongoing file reviews

• Maintain communication with clients, expert witnesses, and third-party providers

• Negotiate settlements and represent clients at mediations, hearings, and trials

• Oversee lien resolution and review disbursement details before client payouts

• Collaborate closely with paralegals and meet all case-related deadlines

• Participate in strategic planning of litigation tactics with minimal oversight

• Fulfill additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience in personal injury litigation

• Demonstrated trial experience required; familiarity with wrongful death and medical malpractice preferred

• Proficiency in managing complex litigation matters autonomously

• Adept in client engagement and case negotiation strategies

• Competency in meeting multiple deadlines in a high-pressure legal environment

• Strong analytical, written, and oral communication capabilities

• Familiarity with legal and medical terminology

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

• Undergraduate degree required

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the State Bar of Virginia

• Valid license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Skills:

• Strong interpersonal communication and client service orientation

• Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion

• Skilled in legal drafting, negotiation, and case valuation

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant legal technology tools
