Job Overview:

A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Practice Support Lawyer (PSL) to provide support across four key litigation subgroups: Patent Litigation, IP & Complex Litigation, Securities Litigation, and Employment Litigation. This role involves developing and managing key documents and forms, organizing knowledge resources, driving the implementation of legal technologies, and preparing training materials. The PSL will also contribute to internal and external content development, ensuring the firm stays ahead in legal market trends and best practices. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, providing flexibility for remote work and in-office presence.

Location:

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties:

  • Model Documents and Forms:

    • Develop, maintain, and make accessible key litigation documents, forms, precedents, and drafting guidelines for each practice area.

    • Ensure availability of client- and jurisdiction-specific templates for court filings.

    • Identify suitable documents for automation and collaborate with the Knowledge and Innovation team to automate them.

  • Knowledge Management and Innovation:

    • Develop and implement strategies to make practice content easily accessible to attorneys.

    • Assist in locating practice-related knowledge resources and technologies.

    • Build and maintain repositories for key practice information such as judge and expert data.

    • Work with the Knowledge and Innovation team to implement technology tools to improve practice efficiency, including AI adoption.

  • Training:

    • Collaborate with the Attorney Training team to create and deliver training programs for attorneys and paralegals.

    • Assist in preparing materials for trainings and practice group meetings.

    • Mentor junior attorneys on presentation skills and content.

    • Ensure training materials are properly archived and accessible.

  • Internal and External Content Development:

    • Review internal and public materials to identify trends and best practices.

    • Develop and maintain content relevant to marketing and business development efforts, including articles, client alerts, case studies, and blogs.

    • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and case law, ensuring that resources are updated accordingly.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in litigation within a law firm, preferably in Patent, IP, Securities, or Employment Litigation.

  • Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.

  • Experience with legal technologies and project management is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication, client service, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with attorneys and staff.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing (state-specific).

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research, writing, and drafting skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.

  • Familiarity with legal technologies and innovation tools.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Capacity to adapt to changes in workflow and manage competing priorities effectively.
