Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid- to senior-level Construction Associate in New York with at least five years of experience advising clients on construction projects. The candidate will represent owners and developers in all phases of commercial and residential real estate construction.

Duties

• Draft and negotiate design, engineering, consulting, and construction agreements.
• Handle right of entry, access, and closeout agreements.
• Resolve construction-related disputes outside of arbitration and litigation.
• Advise clients on construction claims.
• Participate in client education initiatives and business development presentations.
• Mentor junior associates and contribute to firm citizenship activities.

Requirements

• At least five years of relevant law firm experience.
• Strong working knowledge of construction case law and New York Lien Law.
• Transactional real estate experience is a plus.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Outstanding academic credentials.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to and in good standing with the bar of the State of New York.

Skills

• Strong drafting ability.
• Professional achievement and interest in client education.
