Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Commercial Bankruptcy Associate in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of bankruptcy experience, excellent academic credentials, and strong communication skills. Admission to practice in North Carolina or willingness to obtain admission is required.

Duties

• Contribute to representation of debtors and creditors in corporate restructurings and insolvency proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of discovery from start to finish.
• Draft and file pleadings and briefs.
• Review and interpret developments in bankruptcy law and regulations.
• Assist in mass tort bankruptcy litigation.
• Support partners in research and drafting for manuscripts and presentations.
• Perform other legal functions and special projects as assigned.
• Delegate tasks to paralegals and support staff.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of experience in bankruptcy.
• Admitted to practice in North Carolina or willing to obtain admission.

Education

• Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school, with a preferred emphasis in bankruptcy or litigation.

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in North Carolina.
