Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with 4 to 7 years of experience to join its Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Practice Group. This group handles complex, high-exposure claims and coverage disputes across a wide range of insurance and reinsurance matters. The position offers the opportunity to work on nationally significant litigation, contribute to case strategy, and build relationships with institutional clients. This is an excellent fit for a highly motivated attorney with strong litigation experience and a background in insurance law.

Location

Duties

• Handle litigation matters involving insurance coverage and reinsurance disputes

• Analyze and advise on issues arising under:

  • Professional liability policies

  • General liability policies

  • Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance policies

• Draft pleadings, motions (including dispositive motions), and legal memoranda

• Conduct and manage all phases of discovery, including motion practice

• Take and defend depositions

• Represent clients in court proceedings and hearings (commensurate with experience)

• Engage in business development and client relationship management activities

• Independently manage case files and deadlines

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in insurance coverage and civil/commercial litigation

• Familiarity with policy interpretation and insurance-related dispute resolution

• Experience with depositions, court appearances, and drafting dispositive motions

• Preferred: Background in client management and business development

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with team members

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
