A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its team in Pittsburgh, PA. This position is ideal for an attorney with expertise in school and municipal law, working within the public and non-profit sector practice group. The attorney will collaborate closely with seasoned partners and mentors on a wide range of matters with significant public impact.

Duties:

• Advise and represent clients in the public and non-profit sectors, focusing on school and municipal law.
• Handle legal matters concerning student rights, school policies, and special education law.
• Provide counsel on public sector labor and employment issues.
• Manage cases related to right-to-know laws, the Sunshine Act, and tax assessment appeals.
• Assist with general governance for schools and municipalities.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop effective legal strategies.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and policies related to public sector issues.
• Engage in research and legal analysis to inform client strategies.

Requirements:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
• Experience in school and municipal law, including student rights, public sector labor, and special education law.
• Strong communication, research, and legal writing skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior attorneys and clients.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Skills:

• In-depth understanding of school and municipal law.
• Experience with legal matters involving public sector governance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
