Job Overview
A law firm seeks a bankruptcy attorney with approximately 5-10 years of experience to join its Dallas, TX office. The team represents businesses, banks, creditors, and other stakeholders in bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters, focusing on Chapter 11 cases and handling complex, high-stakes situations.

Duties

• Represent parties in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, primarily Chapter 11 cases.
• Manage matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft and argue motions, including first-day motions and contested matters.
• Prepare and manage proofs of claim and related objections.
• Advise on and assist with asset sales and acquisitions in bankruptcy proceedings.
• Appear in court for hearings and participate in depositions.
• Assist on strategy, risk assessment, and recovery options.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of bankruptcy experience.
• Strong experience with Chapter 11 matters; Subchapter V experience is a plus.
• Experience representing creditors, lenders, or other stakeholders.
• Strong writing, advocacy, and case management skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
