Profile

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 5-7 years of experience in defense litigation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for trial preparation, legal research, drafting legal documents, and attending depositions, hearings, and mediations. Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills are essential for this role. Up to 20% of the time, national travel may be required.

Duties:

• Conduct trial preparation, including strategy discussions, discovery, records review, client interviews, and witness preparation.
• Perform legal and factual research on people, businesses, and worksites.
• Draft briefs, memos, and client updates.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Travel nationally, up to 20% of the time, with potential short notice.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license and in good standing with the New York State Bar; multiple Bar licenses are a plus.
• 5-7 years of experience in defense litigation.
• Experience in product liability or toxic tort litigation is a plus.

Certifications:

• Active license and in good standing with the New York State Bar.

Skills:
