Tax Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience, preferably in a major law firm, to join their team. The ideal candidate should have excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school or a Tax LL.M. program. They should be detail-oriented, motivated, possess a positive attitude, and demonstrate good judgment.

Duties:

• Research and analyze complex tax issues related to transactions and corporate tax matters.
• Provide legal counsel to clients on various tax-related topics, including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and tax compliance.
• Draft legal documents, such as tax opinions, memoranda, and agreements.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop tax-efficient strategies for clients.
• Participate in negotiations and due diligence processes.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide strategic advice.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in transactional tax, preferably in a major law firm.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school or a Tax LL.M. program.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to waive into it.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Adherence to ethical and professional standards.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to waive into it.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to waive into it.
