Job Overview: A prestigious law firm located in New York City is currently seeking a Senior Aviation Finance Associate Attorney to join its dynamic finance practice. This role focuses on aviation-related transactions, including complex financing, leasing, and restructuring matters. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of aviation finance, corporate, and tax-related legal issues, and be capable of managing large-scale transactions with a broad array of stakeholders.

Duties:

• Advise clients on aviation-related transactions, including lending, capital markets, leasing, trading, and restructuring.
• Manage financing transactions valued at $100 million or more.
• Draft and negotiate a wide range of legal documents such as credit agreements, purchase agreements, indentures, leases, and other transaction-related documents.
• Guide the interpretation of financing and leasing documents, both orally and in writing.
• Work with major banks, private equity firms, leasing companies, airlines, manufacturers, and investors.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure efficient transaction execution.
• Stay current with developments in aviation finance, the Cape Town Convention, and security interest rules under Article 9 of the UCC.

Requirements:

• 6-9 years of experience in aviation finance or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large financing transactions, particularly in the aviation sector.
• In-depth knowledge of the Cape Town Convention and UCC Article 9 security interests.
• Proven ability to negotiate and draft complex legal agreements.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to practice law in New York.

Skills:

• Excellent drafting, negotiating, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of aviation finance and leasing practices.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.
