Job Overview:

They will manage SIJS cases from start to finish, advocating for clients' best interests and ensuring their legal rights are protected throughout the process.

Duties:

• Manage SIJS cases from start to finish, including filing complaints for custody or guardianship and representing clients in family court and immigration court.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare the necessary documentation for SIJS petitions.
• Provide expert legal counsel and support to clients and their families throughout the SIJS process.
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws and regulations related to SIJS.
• Advocate for clients' best interests and always protect their legal rights.
• Communicate effectively with clients, informing them of case progress and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Participate in firm meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar.
• 2+ years of experience handling SIJS cases, including appearances in family and immigration court.
• Strong understanding of SIJS laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable clients.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are preferred.
