Job Overview: A law firm in Houston, TX, seeks a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney to support the litigation group. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of assigned attorneys, drafting legal documents, conducting factual investigations, communicating with various parties, and maintaining case files with exceptional attention to detail.

Duties:

  • Draft legal documents such as notices, discovery, affidavits, subpoenas, and trial exhibits for attorney review.
  • Prepare deposition summaries for use in mediation and trial proceedings.
  • Conduct factual investigations and analyze file data.
  • Review and organize case records according to firm procedures.
  • Maintain electronic and hardcopy case files with high organizational proficiency.
  • Log and submit case time and expense billing.
  • Provide monthly case updates to supervising attorneys.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, court personnel, counsel, and other case parties.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Law School with a GPA in the top 33%.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and good standing with the Texas State Bar Association.
  • 5 years of litigation experience.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of litigation discovery.
  • Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Software.
  • Experience with practice and case management databases (e.g., iManage) and timekeeping/billing systems.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment.
  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited Law School.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
