Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with 3-4 years of employment law experience to join its New York office. The ideal candidate will have a background in defending employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies.

Duties

• Defend employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies.
• Handle multiple facets of litigation, including responding to complaints and drafting motions.
• Counsel employers on employment-related issues such as leave entitlement and terminations.
• Advise on and defend/prosecute restrictive covenant agreements.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in NY; admission in NJ and/or PA is a plus.
• Experience with wage and hour class/collective action litigation preferred.
• Superior attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Exceptional analytical skills and high academic achievement.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York.

Skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in handling e-discovery and document production.
• Ability to draft dispositive motions and position statements.
