Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Technology Transactions and Licensing Associate for its San Diego office. The successful candidate will work with startups, growth-stage companies, and global enterprises on complex transactions and product launches.

Duties

• Advise clients on commercial and licensing agreements.
• Provide counsel on intellectual property matters.
• Assist with product counseling, particularly in cloud computing and software.
• Draft and negotiate contracts related to IT procurement and supply chain.
• Engage in transactions involving semiconductors and AI/machine learning.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Deep knowledge of intellectual property and commercial contract law.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and open source license frameworks.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and team-oriented approach.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the bar.

Skills

• Technical background or experience in cloud computing, semiconductor, hardware, AI, and cybersecurity sectors preferred.
• Experience with international licensing and cross-border transactions preferred.
• Exposure to IP workflows in M&A or financing transactions preferred.
