Position: Litigation Attorney – Virginia (Remote with Court Appearances)
Location: Remote (Preference for Candidates Inside the Beltway, Northern Virginia Area)
Firm: Stillman Law Office

Position Summary:
This role is primarily remote but does require regular court appearances throughout Virginia. Candidates located inside the Beltway (Northern Virginia area) are preferred for logistical efficiency. The Litigation Attorney will manage a high-volume caseload involving pre-and post-judgment litigation, document review, appearing in court, handling motion practice, and providing legal oversight to support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent firm clients in Virginia consumer debt collection litigation

• Attend hearings, mediations, and trials as required throughout Virginia (including state district and circuit courts)

• Draft pleadings, motions, and related legal documents

• Develop and implement litigation strategies while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, including FDCPA and Virginia-specific regulations

• Maintain accurate records and utilize case management software

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and internal staff

• Provide guidance and oversight to paralegals and administrative team members

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Active license to practice law in Virginia (in good standing)

• Maryland bar license preferred

• 2+ years of litigation experience preferred, especially in creditors’ rights, collections, or similar practice areas

• Strong courtroom skills and experience handling motion hearings and trials

• Located within reasonable proximity to Northern Virginia courthouses

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage a high-volume caseload independently
